Luigi, better known as Mr. L, is an antagonist created and owned by Mr. Pixel Productions, appearing as the main antagonist of Too Late.EXE and its upcoming DLC, The Forgiven. He is the twisted spirit of Luigi who desires to get revenge on Mario for accidentally killing him in Bowser's castle by sending his brother through a series of tormenting levels before ultimately dropping Mario into the same lava pit to burn, just as he did.
He was originally voiced by VOKINGFOX, who also voiced Sonic.OMT in the fan-game series of the same name.

Appearance[]
Mr. L is a much more sinister looking version of the real Luigi, having duller colors, very grotesquely long limbs, and a larger mouth. He has two dots for eyes and blood is seeping out of them. His gloves are a pale yellow instead of white, the circle on his cap is red instead of white and the buttons on his overalls are red instead of yellow.
Personality[]
It is unknown how Luigi was before he died, but it can be assumed that he was once like his canon counterpart, nice, caring and noble. However, as Mr. L he is an evil and sadistic spirit who tortures others after his death simply to vent his frustration.
A notable trait that Luigi has is his hatred towards his older brother, Mario, for killing him and wants to make him pay. He does this by relentlessly torturing him throughout various levels created by him before ultimately killing him in the same area where he once died. It's unknown if Luigi was aware that Mario did not mean to kill him (as evidenced by him having a look of deep remorse and depression) or simply did not care.
Biography[]
Luigi was Mario's younger twin brother and they lived together and went on many adventures together, however, several undisclosed events happened that led to Luigi's death when he fell into the lava.
Mario would spend his days tormented by what had happened and eventually, became emotionally wrecked because of it. After going through World 1-1 of SMB3, Mario broke down crying at the same moment he then reunited with Luigi only to watch him warp into a monster and devour Mario's head. Despite having died, Mario would reappear, due to his extra lives, but then soon enters grotesque scenery while being haunted by the ghost of his brother.
Soon Luigi will tell his Mario to go to Bowser's castle to rescue the princess to finish torturing his brother, implying that he killed her. Mario will enter the castle where there are several Mr. L around him to then be thrown by the real Mr. L, Mario begs Luigi to forgive him before L throws him into the lava, ending the life of his brother. Mr. L then jumps onto the screen to tell the player that it's too late to save Mario.
However, even after exacting his revenge, Mr. L's thirst for torment was not satisfied. He resurrected Mario, but this time as a spirit like himself. Mario became Mr. L's puppet, destined to be tormented for eternity.

Friday Night Funkin'[]
Main Articles: Mr. L (Mario's Madness)

Mr. L appears in the Friday Night Funkin' mod "Mario FNF Port" as one of the opponents. Mr. Pixel himself approved of Mr. L's inclusion.
He also appears in Mario's Madness where he fights against Pico in the song Overdue. Like with "Mario FNF Port", Mr. Pixel approved of Mr. L's inclusion and even participated in announcing said inclusion alongside the devs of "Mario's Madness".

Trivia[]
- Luigi's nickname, Mr. L, originates from Super Paper Mario, where he was brainwashed by Nastasia into becoming Count Bleck's minion and took on the title. Interestingly enough, both interpretations use the Mr. L alias when they were the antagonists.
- That being said, Luigi is never actually addressed as Mr. L in Too Late.EXE.
- Mr. L is similar to the Luigi from the "I HATE YOU" Creepypasta and ROM Hack. Both characters hold a murderous hatred for their older brother, Mario, and suffer from being dropped into a pool of lava in Bowser's Castle.
- However, Mr. L is the more tragic literation, as he dies before the story takes place and it is afterwards that he wants revenge on Mario for killing him on accident. I HATE YOU Luigi, however, betrays his brother out of selfishness and jealousy and dies at the end of the story when Mario pushes him into the lava out of self defense (in the ROM hack, he purposefully knocks him into the lava out of anger). On top of that despite his death being ironic and horrific, it was not played for sympathy but rather a fitting punishment for trying to push Mario into the lava.
- Despite his immense height, Mr. L is confirmed to shorter than MX. Ironically, Luigi is depicted as being taller than Mario despite being the younger brother.
- Following controversy in the EXE community, Mr. Pixel stated that Mr. L along with various horror related characters that he's made (with the exception of Sonic.OMT) are Creepypastas instead of EXEs.
- According to Mr. Pixel, Mr. L's design was inspired by Papyrus' design in Horrortale.
